Where is the PostgreSQL DB located?
Posted: Tue Feb 26, 2008 3:18 amSo I used to use Access DBs and basically I want to keep my PostgreSQL DBs on an external hard drive... where are they located/how do I move them? Thanks
The PostgreSQL database is much more powerful than Access. Because of this your database is not stored in a single file but an array of files located in your Program Files/PostgreSQL/8.3/data/base directory. You should [bpny]NOT[/bpny] touch these files.
If you would like to move your database to an external hard drive then you should read this thread, [url=http://www.pokertracker3.com/forums/viewtopic.php?f=17&t=526&start=0pny]Create new db in a different drive[/urlpny]. Dave provides a good step by step tutorial on how to do this.
