XP Home edition - installation of postgres problems

Hi all

I have just spent 8 hours to get PT 3 up running, dealing with the problem "can't get service started"

Had in all 20 + installations the error about services could not start....

My solution was
1. to delete all former installations.
2. download a program (freeware) called winsock XP fix
3. run Winsock XP fix
4. Reboot computer
5. Run the installation packages PT 3 including postgresSql
6. it worked for me.

Hope this helps some of you guys experiencing this problem!

Thanks for the tip, I'll definitely keep it in mind if others have the same error, though it seems to come up extremely rarely.
