Postgres settings

I am trying to convert an old PT2 database and it is telling me "you have not defined postgreSQL settings"

When I go to settings here is what I have:

Port:5432
Server:localhost
User Name:
Password:
ODBC Entry to Use:
Encoding:Unicode

I have been putting postgres in for user and dbpass for password and have no idea for ODBC and don't know if the other stuff is right.

If it makes a difference I did the password override thing with putting the word "trust" in the file like in the FAQ's

Edit: now it is telling me: Error connecting to hand history dataabase: 0 -transaction already connected.

Is your PT2 database a postgres database?
If not, see this post: Tutorial: Convert PT2 non postgresql database to PT3.

If it is a postgres database, are you still able to run PT2 and connect to it?
Do you now have two versions of postgres installed (8.2 from PT2 and 8.3 from PT3)?
You may still find that the easiest way to do this is as described by the linked post unless you have a lot of tournaments (because manually entered summary information isn't converted that way).
